Maitland Gaol.jpeg

An Archival Record of a building or place is done in order to record details that are, in most instances, to be lost through demolition. Archival Recording can take the form of photographs and/or measured drawings of a place. Photographic records are also undertaken to prepare a record of conservation works as they are done, from the existing structure through to the demolition and rebuilding works, to completion.

Photography is used to record the general and specific details of the place. Digital recording is undertaken using NSW Heritage Council guidelines, with prints, proof sheets and corresponding annotated site plans presented in an archival-quality storage binder for safe-keeping.
