Founded in 2002 by Registered Architect Linda Babic, Heritas is a specialist heritage architecture practice with over two decades of experience across the Hunter Region and greater New South Wales. Based in Newcastle, we combine postgraduate qualifications in heritage conservation with a strong foundation in architecture bringing design-led thinking to heritage strategy, built form, and statutory approvals.

Linda brings extensive expertise in heritage conservation, combining architectural training with a deep commitment to cultural heritage practice. She actively contributes to the sustainability of local heritage through professional and volunteer roles, including serving as a former Trustee of the Newcastle Historic Reserve Trust, participation in the Newcastle Heritage Strategy Working Party, and ongoing involvement with the Australian Institute of Architects NSW Chapter Heritage Committee.
Her dedication to the field has been recognised through the NSW National Trust Cathy Donnelly Memorial Award for Outstanding Female Practitioner in 2017 and her elevation to Fellowship of the Australian Institute of Architects in 2025.

Her academic excellence has been widely recognised, including receiving the University of Newcastle Graduate of the Year (Bachelor of Design – Architecture), the University Medal, and awards as the highest achieving female graduate across both undergraduate and Master of Architecture programs.
