Lake Macquarie City Council's sensitive redevelopment of Awaba House, a c.1927 building that sustained fire damage in 2019, has breathed new life into a cherished local heritage item. Heritas supported the Council's vision by providing heritage induction, conservation guidance, archival photographic recording, and heritage interpretation design throughout the construction phase. The project culminates in a compelling visitor experience that authentically communicates the building's layered history, including the story of the 2019 fire.
